15-year-old Chanice Lee created her blog The Melanin Diary as a way to promote social awareness amongst black teens by discussing various topics centered around social justice, history, and politics. She founded the community organization She’s A Writer – formerly known as Creative Girls Who Write – to help girls realize the power of their voice through writing. Chanice’s accomplishments include being selected to serve as a 2017-2018 Teen Advisor for the United Nations Foundations “Girl Up” campaign. She has also participated in speaking engagements, including career days at South Florida schools, and she hosted a virtual workshop called “What Can A Teenage Girl Do?” at the first-ever Color Of Justice program in Tacoma, Washington, an event that encouraged 80+ girls aged 11-18 to pursue a career in law or the judiciary. She has established her own clothing line, which includes shirts that say MELANATED & VEGAN and DO IT FOR THE CULTURE. Chanice was the youngest speaker at the Florida March for Black Women in Miami (September 2017). Her first book, Young Revolutionary: The Teen's Guide To Activism, will be published in 2018. Chanice is the team lead for BWR Youth Leadership Development.
