REV. LORILYN (CANDY) HOLMES (emcee)

Rev. Candy Holmes has been with the Metropolitan Community Churches (MCC) for more than 30 years. She lifts up a liberation theology that is enriched by her Baptist, Pentacostal, and Interfaith roots as well as her social justice vision. She has worked with many advocacy and civic groups, including National Black Justice Coalition, GLAAD, Human Rights Campaign, Many Voices, and LGBTQ Task Force. Rev. Holmes has been featured in various documentaries and media, including Washington Post, Huffington Post, ElixHer, and Believe Out Loud. She was invited by the White House to stand with President Obama and congressional leaders to witness the signing of the Presidential Memorandum extending benefits to same-gender partners of Federal employees.
